Registration requires a $5 donation per person to NYCares -
Beam Living’s partner in fighting hunger in NYC.

Cardboard Boxes, Shoe Boxes, Strong Scissors (if available).
All other supplies are included.

About the Artist

Tom Manco is known for his community driven cardboard sculptures as seen in Tompkins Square Park and his recent popup Studio + Gallery on Ave B.

Manco’s Cardboard Art started with a child’s idea, some friendly encouragement, and a Giant. For no reason whatsoever, and without realizing it, Tom was creating something for his family and for the community.

Traditionally trained as a painter, Tom took to sculpting cardboard and created massive interactive cardboard installations, each one designed symbolically for the month it was temporarily on view in Tompkins Square Park 2020-2022. Pivoting from creating creatures to building a community, in this next series Tom is creating an interactive workshop crafting recycled cardboard sculptures and wall hangings that represent building small communities with the people in his community as inspiration and motivation.
